Innisfallen Health Club – Terms & Conditions
1. Consent & Eligibility
• All Health Club users must sign these Terms & Conditions prior to using the facilities.
• A parent or legal guardian must sign on behalf of individuals under 16 years of age.
• Children under 16 are not permitted to use gym facilities under any circumstances.
• Children under 16 may use the swimming pool only when accompanied by a responsible adult.
2. Facility Rules & Safety Regulations
• Mobile phones, cameras, and recording equipment are strictly prohibited in all facilities to ensure privacy and safety.
• Swimwear: Appropriate swimwear and swim hats (available for €3) must be worn at all times in the pool.
• No jewellery in the pool.
• Prohibited items/behaviours: Glass containers, alcohol, drugs, food, chewing gum, running, pushing, diving, or unsafe behaviour.
• Children under:
- 16 years old must be supervised by a responsible adult.
- 10 years old must be actively cared for at poolside by a suited adult.
- 6 years old must be within arm’s reach of an adult in the water.
• Members under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be asked to leave.
• Do not swim after heavy meals.
• If you or your child has experienced diarrhoea in the past 14 days, or vomiting/gastroenteritis in the past 24 hours, do not use the pool.
3. General Facility Use
• All facilities close 10 minutes before published closing time to meet health and safety standards.
• Lockers may not be left locked overnight. Items left may be removed. The club is not responsible for lost or removed items.
• Towel Policy: One towel is provided per member per visit. A second towel is available for €1.
• Parking: Parking at The Great Southern is permitted only while using the Leisure Centre. The hotel may close parking as required.
4. Participant Acknowledgement & Assumption of Risk
By signing this agreement, the participant affirms the following:
• They are physically fit to participate and have no known medical conditions that would be aggravated by participation.
• They are aware of and accept the inherent risks associated with physical activity, including but not limited to:
- Equipment malfunction
- Slips, trips, and falls
- Wet surfaces
- Collisions in pool or gym
• They understand that lifeguards and gym staff may not always be on duty.
• They acknowledge the risk of bodily injury, disability, or death and accept full responsibility for any loss or injury sustained.
• They waive all claims against The Great Southern Killarney, its staff, and officials unless injury is caused by proven negligence.
• The company is not liable for injuries or damages resulting from participation.
5. Health & Medical Disclaimer
• Activities provided at the leisure centre require a suitable level of physical fitness and good health.
• Individuals with a history of any of the following conditions must consult their GP before participating:
- Diabetes
- Epilepsy
- Permanent ear damage
- High blood pressure
- Heart disease
- Asthma
- Drug or alcohol dependence
- Proneness to blackouts or fainting
- Use of medication affecting physical performance
• Those with such conditions are strongly advised to be accompanied by a competent adult familiar with the condition and able to assist in an emergency.
Refund/Membership Holds
Refunds or membership holds (freezes) will not be granted for non-use under any circumstances. However, if a member is advised by a medical professional to cease fitness activities, a request for a refund or to place the membership on hold may be considered. This request must be supported by a valid medical note and submitted to the manager via email for review: health@greatsouthernkillarney.com
